Brassington Heat Network project gathers momentum

50 people attended a public event at Brassington Village Hall in April, held to inform the residents about a potential heat network, which might be linked to a new 1MW wind turbine. Dave and Richard from the Dev Team spoke at the event, along with Brian Barry from Brassington Community Heating CIC and Martin Crane from Carbon Alternatives.
The proposals were well received. The heat network is feasible providing that cheaper electricity can be sourced either from a new turbine or from the existing Carsington wind farm, but a large proportion of households would need to take part (60% plus). The feasibility study for this project has been funded by the Rural Community Energy Fund (RCEF). The event even featured on BBC Midlands Today East! Click here to watch the YouTube video
