We’re really pleased to be involved in 2 major co-op share offers launched this week:
John Cleveland College Community Woodheat and Wedmore Community Power Co-op
JCC Woodheat are installing some serious (think >1MW) woodchip boilers in a school in Leicestershire. We have been involved in helping to get this one set up, using some of the approaches we developed for Woolhope Woodheat. The team at JCC Woodheat have done amazing work getting this up and running – the project will deliver cheaper, low carbon heating for the school and a good deal for members.
Wedmore CPC are also at the megawatt scale – this time with solar PV in a Somerset field. One notable feature of the project is the very large community fund which the group have managed to squeeze out of the project – granted it is pretty sunny in Somerset but >£500k over 27 years is seriously impressive!
