Brassington Heat Network RCEF Feasibility Study

Brassington in Derbyshire comprises 225 houses, a primary school, church, village hall and two public houses. Much of the village is a conservation area including several listed buildings. There is no mains gas in the village and a high proportion of oil and LPG heating. The area has seen significant mining in the past and some of the area is limestone.

Sharenergy undertook a Rural Community Energy Fund (RCEF) funded feasibility study for low carbon district heating in the village. An event was held at the village hall, which 50 people attended. The event even featured on BBC Midlands Today East! Click here to watch the YouTube video.

The study is available on the Midlands Net Zero Hub website.
